Mesut Ozil to Man United transfer ‘in tatters’ – £42m Arsenal star advised to run contract down for Summer move
Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil has been closely linked with a move away from the north London based club this summer.
The 29-year-old has under nine months left on his contract with Arsenal and could end up leaving the club for free next summer.
Ozil has been closely linked with a move to Man United in recent weeks with several sources citing that he wants to reunite with Jose Mourinho.

However, according Football.London, Ozil has been told to forget about sealing a move to Manchester United in January. The report states that the former Real Madrid star’s hopes of a move mid-way though the season are ‘in tatters.’
Meanwhile, the Manchester Evening News claims that Ozil has been advised to run his Arsenal contract down if he wants to be handed a bumper deal in the summer.
Per the source, the Germany international currently earns approximately £150,000 per week. The north London based club are prepared to table an offer in excess of £200,000 a week to extend Ozil’s stay at Arsenal.
Ozil made the move to Arsenal from Real Madrid for £42 million back in September 2013.
