£20m Tottenham striker target Cenk Tosun delighted with ‘near escape’ after almost joining Crystal Palace
Besiktas star Cenk Tosun has been in great form this season.
Tosun has 10 goals in all competitions this season including four in the Champions League.
The Turkish international star has a total of four goals and one assist in the elite European club competition.
Things could have been very different for Tosun this season.
The 26-year-old was on the verge of joining Crystal Palace over the summer transfer window.
Tosun revealed that he is delighted to have stayed at Besiktas and described almost joining Palace as being a near escape.

“Crazy numbers are being quoted for my transfer fee right now,” Tosun was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.
“Of course it makes me proud especially after my near escape with Crystal Palace.
“I wanted to join them at the time but in retrospect staying here turned out to be the right now.”
Tosun became the highest scoring Besiktas player in Champions League history when he netted in the 1-1 draw against Monaco last week.
The star striker has played a key role in the Black Eagles currently topping Group G with 10 points.
The Turkish international has played an important role in Besiktas winning the league title for the past two seasons.
Tosun is still being targeted by Palace but Tottenham, Everton and Newcastle have now also entered the race according to Haberturk.
Besiktas value Tosun as being worth £20 million and he has another two years remaining on his contract.
