Tottenham prepared €10m January bid for Besiktas star Tolgay Arslan but club demand €12m

Tottenham are plotting a move for Besiktas midfielder Tolgay Arslan according to reports in Turkey.

Fotomac are now reporting that the North London based outfit are plotting a €10 million January move for Arslan.

Per the source, Besiktas are demanding €12 million for the 27-year-old who has another five-years remaining on his contract.

Spurs scouts as being impressed with the midfielder following the Black Eagles 1-1 draw against Monaco in the Champions League last week.

The versatile midfielder is of Turkish origin but he was born in Germany making him eligible to play in the Premier League without a work permit.

Arslan is one of several Besiktas players being linked with a January exit.

The Black Eagles have been in great form over the past two seasons winning back to back league titles and are currently top of the Champions League Group G with 10 points after four games.

Besiktas could lose their next two Champions League games and still book a place in the next round.

The Istanbul giants have been reluctant to sell their star players over the winter break especially if they qualify for the Last 16 as group leaders.

The midfielder recently signed a new Besiktas deal and has made 14 appearances in all competitions this season.
