Cenk Tosun may now be out of Newcastle price range after Champions League goal scoring record
Newcastle United are interested in Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun but his price tag is providng to be a problem.
The Chronicle report that the Black Eagles £17 million valuation for the striker is too expensive at the moment.
Per the source, Magpies boss Rafa Benitez wants to sign two strikers and a number 10 over the winter transfer window.
Benitez likes Tosun but uncertainty over the club’s ownership makes budgeting for January difficult.
The Spanish manager has had regular meetings with the club’s new head of recruitment Steve Nickson.

Tosun is among the players currently being scouted by Nickson’s team.
Besiktas have increased Tosun’s valuation this season following his Champions League form.
Tosun has scored four times and provided one assist in the competition.

Tosun has a total of 10 goals in 15 games this season.
The prolific striker has played an integral role in Besiktas lifting the league title for the past two seasons.

A source close to Besiktas revealed to Turkish-Football that Crystal Palace came close to signing Tosun over the summer but had a £12 million offer rejected.
