Wonder kid reveals why he picked Roma over Man City & Tottenham
Roma youngster Cengiz Under was linked with a move to the Premier League over the summer transfer window.
Turkish-Football reported that Under was actually on the verge of a Manchester City move before Roma swooped in with a €15m bid.
Ajansspor meanwhile claimed that Tottenham were close to a move for the 20-year-old winger.
Under revealed what he opted to join Roma in his latest interview with Emre Sarigul for the Guardian.
The Turkish international stated that Roma sporting director Monchi played a key role in convincing him to join the Serie A giants.

“I was convinced after we heard Monchi’s plan. Monchi [Roma’s director of football] explained they were making big changes. He made it clear that he wanted me as a player for the first-team squad, not as a future prospect. He valued me as a footballer in my own right now, as a rising star with potential,” Under said.
“He knows what to say and how to explain things. He explained the project in detail, that they are a club not afraid to play young players and that the manager has the courage to give youngsters a shot. That clinched it for me.”
Under became the most expensive Turkish international player to leave the Super Lig when he joined Roma this summer on his 20th birthday.
City have been keeping close tabs on the Turkish market over the past few seasons.
The Citizens did sign Enes Unal in 2015 who was sold to Villarreal this summer after an impressive loan stint at Twente scoring 19 goals and providing four assists in all competitions.
Under has made six appearances in all competitions for the Italian giants this season.
