Watch: £30m Newcastle & Everton target scores in Istanbul derby clash against Galatasaray
Besiktas beat Galatasaray 3-0 in the Istanbul derby at the Vodafone Park to close the gap with the leaders to just three points.
Cenk Tosun had all eyes on him heading into the clash.
A source close to Besiktas revealed to Turkish-Football that Newcastle and Everton were among the clubs to send scouts to keep tabs on the striker.
The 26-year-old did not disappoint and put on a man of the match display against the Lions.
Tosun opened the scoring, reacting first to Fernando Muslera spilling the ball before slotting the ball into the back of the net.

The Turkish international now has 11 goals and two assist in all competitions including four goals and two assists in the Champions League.
Tosun has another two-years remaining on his contract.
Besiktas are not keen on selling their star man in January and will only consider offers matching their £30 million valuation.
