Everton Strike €25m Deal With Turkish Giants Over Goal Machine Cenk Tosun
Everton have struck a deal with Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun according to Fanatik.
Per the source, the Toffees have reached a €25 million agreement with the reigning Super Lig champions over Tosun.
An official announcement regarding the transfer is expected imminently.
Everton reportedly struck a deal with Tosun prior to the 2-1 defeat against Sivasspor over the weekend.
The 26-year-old did not start against Sivasspor but did come on as a second half substitute.
The Toffees are reported to have struck a 4.5 year deal with Everton.
Tosun will be paid €2 million for the rest of the season and then will be on a salary of €4 million.
Turkish-Football have confirmed Everton interest but our sources at Besiktas have yet to confirm a deal being in place.
There has been no official response from the club.
Tosun turned down a move to Crystal Palace recently as he did not want to swap a title race and playing in the Champions League Last 16 against Bayern Munich for a relegation scrap.
The Turkish international is however, open to the idea of joining Everton.
The 26-year-old has also attracted interest from Newcastle and Chelsea.
Chelsea have also been scouting the forward according to Besiktas club secretary Ahmet Urkmezgil.
“We have no plans to sell Cenk Tosun, will this be the case in the future? that we don’t know, it may chance,” Cebi said.
“Our current stance is clear, we want Cenk to stay on.”
Tosun has 13 goals and three assists in all competitions for the Black Eagles this season.
The Germany born striker does not need a work permit to play in England.
The powerful striker has four goals and two assists in the Champions League this campaign as well as goal of the group stage for his long-range effort in the 3-1 win over Porto on Match Day 1.
