However, it was the 29-year-old’s piece of skill in the moments leading up to the clash which set social media on fire.

A video which emerged online shows Ozil nutmeg Welbeck from a near-impossible angle while Arsenal’s squad headed back towards the dressing room after their pre-match warm-up.

Incredibly, Ozil managed to nutmeg Welbeck by rebounding the ball off of the hoardings alongside the pitch at Selhurst Park.
