“Not everybody likes everybody” – Paul Merson reveals shock prediction for Arsenal v Chelsea clash

Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson has revealed his prediction for the London derby.

Arsenal face their rivals Chelsea in the Premier League on Wednesday evening as they look to return to winning ways.

The fixture takes place at the Emirates Stadium while kick-off is scheduled for 19:45 (GMT).

In a preview which will upset Gunners fans, Merson believes Chelsea will record a shock win over Arsenal. The SkySports pundit even went on to predict a 3-1 victory for Antonio Conte’s side.

“This is a good game. I have seen Arsenal a lot this season and they do give you chances. Going forward Chelsea are better than some of the teams Arsenal have played recently and I think they will pick them off as the game goes on,” Merson stated in his SkySports preview.

“There doesn’t seem a lot of good harmony at Arsenal at the moment. That celebration the other day was worrying. When you are winning it’s OK but you don’t win that many games when it’s like that.

“Not everybody likes everybody in a football team, that’s fact, but when you get on the pitch whatever happens off the pitch you give your all together, that is what wins you trophies, not petulance like ‘I don’t like him so I won’t celebrate with him’. That doesn’t win you anything.”

Arsenal’s star playmaker Mesut Ozil is an injury doubt going into Wednesday night’s game. The 29-year-old missed the 0-0 draw with West Brom over the weekend.

Chelsea meanwhile come into tonight’s game in a confident mood following their 5-0 victory over Stoke City. The Blues find themselves in third place in the Premier League and sit seven points ahead of Arsenal.
