Villarreal were held to a 1-1 draw against Deportivo La Coruna at the Madrigal Stadium on Sunday.

Turkey international Enes Unal put the home side ahead in the first half making history in the process.

Unal became the first player in La Liga history to score for his team, then score for a loan club – Levante – before returning and scoring for his parent club in the same season.

City sold Unal to Villarreal over the summer in a deal which included a buy back clause.

A source close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football that City have an option to sign Unal for £28 million [€32m] after his first season at Villarreal.

The fee rises to £29.7 million [€34m] in his second seasons and £31.4 million [€36m] in his third season.

If City do not wish to activate his buyback clause, Unal has a release clause set at £43.7 million [€50m].

The Turkish international joined at Levante on a temporary loan over the first half of the season.

The La Liga allows for emergency loans to be drafted in mid season to replace an injured player.

Unal was brought in as a replacement striker, with assurances of first team football.

Under the terms of the agreement, Levante must play Unal at least 70 minutes each game he is available or face a $50,000 fine.

Unal has a total of three goals and two assists in all competitions this season.
