Emre Can contract dispute: Why Liverpool midfielder has failed to pen a new deal
Liverpool are running the risk of losing their star midfielder Emre Can for free at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old has under five months left on his current deal with the Merseyside based club and is free to discuss terms with European clubs.
Liverpool’s bitter rivals Manchester United have been linked with a move for Can in recent weeks. Serie A champions Juventus are also understood to be keen on signing the Germany international.

However, talks between Emre Can and Liverpool are ongoing. According to the Times, the contract dispute is still down to the 23-year-old’s insistence over a minimum fee release clause.
Liverpool has a policy of not including such clauses in their players’ contracts. The policy has helped the club get maximum value for the likes of Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho in the transfer market.
Do a Barcelona ‘Coutinho’ with him and put in a release of £350M !
