Liverpool Legend Makes Plea For Star Midfielder After Display Against Man City, Fans Agree
Liverpool became the first side to beat Manchester City in the Premier League this season following their 4-3 victory at Anfield on Sunday.
Reds legend John Arne Riise was so impressed by the display of Emre Can that he urged the club to meet the midfielder’s wage demands and extend his contract deal.
Can has just a few months remaining on his current deal and will be a free agent at the end of the season unless he agrees to an extension.
The Former Champions League winner with Liverpool wrote: “Give Can what he wants and sign him please. Beast in the middle today. Great player.”

Emre Can started for the Reds and was outstanding in the centre of midfield before being substituted off for James Milner with just over 10 minutes left.
Can’s stats made impressive reading, he made six tackles – only Andrew Robertson made more. Can also completed two interceptions.
The midfielder of Turkish origin helped keep possession with an 88 percent pass accuracy – the highest figure for Liverpool players that started.
It is worth highlighting that Liverpool conceded twice in quick succession after Can was substituted off in the last 10 minutes.
Liverpool fans – in general – agreed with what Riise had to say.
23-24 years of age. He’s a legend in the making. If we let him go, we’ll regret it in one or two seasons. More than any other player ever sold.

Still playing good tho.. Can is something else today ? Karius should have saved that, he was near post.

Couldn’t agree more… work rate is exactly what we need. He’s like a German @Kuyt.
