Arsenal transfer news: Gunners block sale of star striker amid Alexis Sanchez to Man Utd transfer saga

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck has been linked with a move to Turkish giants Besiktas over the past week.

However, according to the latest reports Arsenal have rejected all approaches for their star striker.

Turkish outlet Sporx state that the Gunners are unwilling to sell Welbeck amid the Alexis Sanchez to Man Utd transfer saga.

Per the source, Arsenal are preparing for life without the Chile international and don’t want to be left with a shortage in attack.

Besiktas are on the hunt for a new striker following the sale of Cenk Tosun to Everton earlier this month. The Turkey international made his debut for the Toffees on Saturday.

Alexandre Lacazette, Olivier Giroud, Alex Iwobi, Theo Walcott and Chuba Akpom are all currently available to take Sanchez’s place at Arsenal.

However, Theo Walcott has also been linked with an Arsenal exit in recent weeks.

The Gunners are back in action this weekend when they take on London rivals Crystal Palace.
