Arsenal Could Lose Another Key Player To Man United Says Alan Shearer

Arsenal could end up losing another star player after Alexis Sanchez joined Manchester United this week.

Former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer revealed that he thinks Mesut Ozil could end up joining the Red Devils as well this season.

The playmaker of Turkish origin will be out of contract at the end of the season but has yet to sign an extension.

Ozil will be a free agent at the end of the season unless the Gunners resolve his contract situation.

Writing in his column for The Sun, Shearer said: “Sanchez understandably was not prepared to hang around at Arsenal any more, where the ambition is lacking with a manager and a club that have lost their way.

“It is not just Sanchez who thinks it. Mesut Ozil had a great game on Saturday but he will be a free agent in the summer too… United might even open the door for him.”

United have been closely linked with Ozil and Jose Mourinho did previously coach the 29-year-old during his time in charge of Real Madrid.

Arsenal did however, sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan in a swap move with Sanchez and are linked with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gunners feel that signing the star duo could help convince Ozil into extending his contract.

The North London based outfit take on Chelsea next in the League Cup semi-final clash at the Emirates Stadium tonight.

The first-leg ended in a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge earlier in January.

Arsenal head into the clash on the back of a convincing 4-1 win over Crystal Palace 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium.
