Everton Fan Reveals Who Should Start Ahead Of ‘Not Good Enough’ Niasse Against Arsenal

Everton will be hoping to beat Arsenal away for the first time since 1996 when they face the North London based outfit at the Emirates on Saturday.

Toffees manager decided to start Oumar Niasse against in the 2-1 victory over Leicester City mid-week.

Tosun was dropped to the bench and did not feature over the course of the 90 minutes.

Despite the victory not everyone was impressed by Niasse, in fact he missed two goal scoring opportunities and did not find the back of the net.

It was fellow January signing Theo Walcott who scored a brace to earn Everton their first win of 2018.

The Liverpool Echo spoke to Everton fans ahead of the the Arsenal clash.

Connor O’Neill had the following to say about who should start between Niasse and Tosun: “Oumar Niasse is clearly a nice guy – his work rate and desire can’t be knocked, either. But the hard face truth is that he’s not good enough. The two chances he missed last night could have had serious consequences and been the difference between 3 points or 1.

“Sat on the bench, Cenk Tosun must have been kicking himself, he could have only dreamed on being gifted two gilt-edged opportunities. It’s clear by the fee paid for Tosun that is he is now the number one forward at the club. Easing him in is great, but he’s only going to adapt and learn by playing games. Oumar Niasse has proved he’s not good enough, now it’s time to see if Cenk Tosun is.”

And to be fair Tosun is a finisher, he will score presented with opportunities.

The 26-year-old proved his capabilities at Besiktas winning back to back league titles, scoring in the Champions League and at international level.

The Turkey international was directly involved in six of the Black Eagles 11 goals in the Champions League group stage.

Tosun left Besiktas having been involved in 17 goals in all competitions.

The striker has yet to score for his new side but is expected to return to the fold against the Gunners.
