Arsenal and Liverpool transfer target Kerem Demirbay has suffered a major injury setback.
The Premier League duo have recently linked with a move for the Turkey international.
However, both Arsenal and Liverpool are likely to await Demirbay’s recovery before making a move for him.
According to the official Bundesliga website, Demirbay suffered a serious ankle injury during Hoffenheim’s 1-1 draw with Hertha Berlin.
Per the source, Demirbay has ruptured the anterior ligament in his right ankle, ruling the midfield playmaker out for several weeks at least.
Following the game, Demiaby’s teammates posted a photo of the Hoffenheim team holding up shirt for their injured teammate.

Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelsmann spoke to the club’s official website regarding Demirbay’s injury.
“This isn’t good news, although we were worried it might be a more serious injury,” Nagelsmann stated.
“We now need to support Kerem as much as we can to help him recover as quickly as possible.”
Demirbay has made 15 Bundesliga appearances for Hoffenheim so ar this season, scoring twice and providing one assist.
