Everton suffered a 5-1 defeat against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.
January signing Cenk Tosun was left on the bench for the second match running.
Sam Allardyce’s changes did not have the desired effect as Arsenal kept their unbeaten home record against the Toffees which stretches back to 1996 intact.
We took a look at how Everton fans reacted on social media to Tosun being dropped again.

Everton fans in general were not pleased to see Tosun on the bench especially when they are struggling for goals. Oumar Niasse has started the last two games but has not scored. He has only scored twice for the Toffees as a starter.
There’s something seriously wrong at the club when they sign a striker for £27m & dont play him. The treatment of Cenk Tosun is symbolic of the way the club is at the moment. Allardyce is a bad manager who talks nonsensical contradictory garbage & I cant wait for the day he goes.

How is @CenkTosun_ supposed to adapt to the premiership if he can’t get on the pitch #AllardyceOut

That wasn’t the Cenk Tosun who violated Porto in the CL. Big Sam has killed his shooting ability

‘We don’t know too much about Cenk Tosun yet’ is cracking patter from Allardyce. Are we picking names out of a hat now?

Lookman sent on loan & scores for Leipzig. We took a great goal scorer from Beşiktaş, who are in Europe and beat Leipzig in December, and sit him on the bench. If we don’t want Cenk Tosun send him back. It’s all too messy and this season is far too long and painful @Everton #EFC

We’re playing long balls to midget Niasse when we have big, strong 6’0 Cenk Tosun on the bench. Couldn’t make it up

The only way Cenk will gain experience and confidence is to play and yesterday, when our defence appeared to ‘wave a white flag’, would have been the time to use him from the beginning as he would have had nothing to lose, except perhaps his self respect.

If Big Sam genuinely will not play him it does raise the question… why spend £27 million on him?
if u wont play with cenk tosun why did u buy him? Can someone explain this? No idea what is this guy trying to do… Allardyce please leave football alone

Why is Cenk Tosun not playing for Everton? Am I missing something? Seems utterly bizarre

This!
Really not sure what it says about Everton’s transfer strategy that Oumar Niasse – a man they recently tried to sell – is starting ahead of Cenk Tosun – a man they recently bought.

Banter!
After Allardyce revelation that he’s behind Niasse in the pecking order after only 2 games for Everton Cenk Tosun has applied for a job at the Baris Kebab House on Rice Lane.

Is Sam Allardyce the problem?
Allardyce benched Cenk Tosun, who he signed £27mil, ‘cos he “can’t hold ball up” so who scouted him? Made changes to his team & got thrashed. Lookman scores for Leipzig. England really did dodge a bullet.
— Adam Gray (@AdamGray1250) February 4, 2018
Sam Allardyce says Cenk Tosun was on the bench today as he has struggled to adapt to English football. In other news Sam believes the way to help Tosun, Klaassen and Sandro adapt to English football is to not give them a chance to play English football. 1/2
