Galatasaray President Mustafa Cengiz has blamed Badou Ndiaye’s agent for the Senegal international’s January departure.
The box-to-box midfielder sealed a £16 million move to Stoke City from Galatasaray last month.
The 27-year-old only joined Galatasaray over the summer and had established himself as a first-team regular for the Istanbul giants.
Galatasaray President Mustafa Cengiz told the daily Turkish newspaper Milliyet that club manager Fatih Terim wanted to keep Ndiaye.
However, Cengiz went onto state that Ndiaye’s agent ‘poisoned‘ his client’s mind and convinced him to push for a move to Stoke City.

Per the source, Terim opted to allow Ndiaye to leave after the Senegal international made it clear that he no longer wanted to play for Galatasaray.
Ndiaye put on an impressive display for Stoke City on his debut despite his side’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of Bournemouth.
The former Osmanlispor midfielder provided the assist for Xherdan Shaqiri’s goal.
