Freiburg rising star Caglar Soyuncu has been making a name for himself since his Bundesliga breakthrough last year.

The 20-year-old center-back has become a first-team star for Freiburg despite his age.

Turkish-Football have reported Liverpool keeping tabs on the Turkey international and a source close to the player revealed that the Reds in addition to several sides across Europe regularly scout the defender.

“I am committed to Freiburg and feel I have really developed here,” Soyuncu said in an interview with beIN Turkey.

“But my dream is to play in the Premier League or in Spain.

“Right now I am at the right place and the only focus I have is on the best finish to the current season.

“If I talk now it could be disruptive if there are offers we will hold talks at the end of the season.”

Soyuncu made a name for himself at the highly acclaimed Altinordu academy before joining Freiburg for £2 million in the summer of 2016.

The young defender went from playing second-tier Turkish football to becoming a Bundesliga regular.

The official Bundesliga website named him as being one of the stars of tomorrow.

Soyuncu also made the official Bundesliga shortlist for ‘Rookie of the Season‘. The award goes to the best under-21 player of the season and is decided by a fans vote.

Soyuncu has averaged 1.6 tackles and 2.4 interceptions per-game for Freiburg this season.

The defender has one goal in 19 appearances for the German side this season.

Despite being just 21-years-old, Soyuncu has established himself as a regular call-up to the Turkish national team.
