Southampton v Liverpool – Confirmed lineups: Klopp facing injury worries in defence

Liverpool will be hoping to bounce back from a controversial 2-2 draw against Tottenham when they take on Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were 2-1 up against Tottenham going into the final minutes but were pegged back by a late Harry Kane penalty – his second of the game.

The Reds have been in impressive form away from home this season with seven wins in 13 games on the road.

Meanwhile, Southampton have one of the worst home records having registered just three wins at St Mary’s Stadium.

Klopp will have a careful balancing act to maintain with as they face the Porto in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash next week.

The Reds boss has however, decided to field a strong side.

Both Joe Gomes and Ragnar Klavan are out injured after failing late fitness tests.

Klopp will be unable to call upon Nathaniel Clyne who remains out with a back injury.

Emre Can will start in midfield for the Reds alongside Wijnaldum and Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Captain Jordan Henderson has not been included in the match day squad.

Virgil Van Dijk will face his former side and start alongside Joel Matip.

Southampton’s star striker Charlie Austin is ruled out with a hamstring problem.
