Machester City beat Basel 4-0 in Switzerland in the Champions League Last 16 first-leg clash on Tuesday.
Ilkay Gundogan put on a memorable display scoring his first brace since City beat Barcelona 3-1 in the same competition last season.
The midfielder of Turkish origin was widely praised after the game by fans and football pundits alike.
Gundogan’s first goal was an impressive header inside the first 10 minutes but it was his second goal that got everyone talking.

Chelsea legend and BT Sport pundit Frank Lampard waxed lyrical about Gundogan after the game.
“Very, good he has really come into his own now since his injury,” Lampard said on BT Sport referring to his second goal.
“He is getting game time, very classy on the ball.
“This was all about the quality of the finish, you can’t really blame the goalkeeper.”

The brace was the 27-year-old’s first this term for the Premier League leaders.
Gundogan now has four goals and six assists in 32 appearances for the Citizens this season.
The other goals were scored by Sergio Aguero and Bernardo Silva.
The victory was the biggest ever away win in the knockout stage of the Champions League for an English side.
