Algeria international midfielder Sofiane Feghouli has revealed why he left West Ham United over the summer transfer window.
Feghouli made the move to Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray in a €5,5 million deal and has gone onto establish himself as a first-team regular in Fatih Terim’s side.
During an interview with Football Agence France Feghouli explained that while he could have made more money in England, he wants to win silverware.
Feghouli went on to state that he was not happy playing for West Ham United as they did not harbour hopes of winning titles.

“First of all it’s not about money. I have already been making good money in England,” Feghouli told Football Agence France
“They have been paying me well, but once I realised I needed to compete for the titles, I just decided it’s time to leave. So it’s not about money, it’s for the titles,”
“At West Ham, I realised I wasn’t happy for a while. I needed to find a project like Valencia to compete with the trophies, and I think I found it.”
Feghouli has registered five assists and scored six goals in 18 appearances for Galatasaray so far this season. The Lions currently sit at the top of the Premier League table with 44 points after 21 games
West Ham United are back in action next weekend when they take on Liverpool in the Premier League.
Galatasaray meanwhile continues their title challenge when they face Istanbul rivals Kasimpasa this weekend.
