Humble as ever, Gundogan decided to praise teammate Kevin de Bruyne instead for his opening goal.
The Germany international described De Bruyne’s cross as being ‘perfect’.
“Quite a lot to be honest, I mean I had the opponent on my back so it was not really easy to head it,” Gundogan said after the game.
“I got a good touch on the ball with my head which doesn’t happen so often to be honest
The timing was perfect, the ball was perfect from Kevin, so obviously it was an important.
“You need to ask him, I hope he enjoyed it.”
The Belgium international now has 19 assists in all competitions this season including four in the Champions League.
Gundogan meanwhile took his goal tally up to four this campaign.
