The World Cup winner setup Olivier Giroud with the opening goal from the corner spot in the first half.
Özil also provided the pass that led to Tomas Rosicky’s goal in the last minutes to seal the Gunners victory.
The 26-year-old caused Everton problems with his creativity and completed five key passes over the duration of the game two of which resulted in goals. Özil was given an 8.00 rating by Whoscored.
The response was just what Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger was hoping for following a disappointing 3-1 loss against Monaco at the Emirates in the Champions League Last 16 mid-week.
Özil has two goals and five assists in Arsenal’s last five Premier League games.
