Arsenal transfer news: Wenger ‘obsessed’ with signing international star playmaker this summer

Arsenal have been linked with a move for their former midfield playmaker Oguzhan Ozyakup in recent weeks.

Turkish-Football recently revealed that talks have taken place between the north London based club and Ozyakup.

Meanwhile, the Turkish outlet Yeni Asir have moved the story on claiming that Arsenal boss Wenger ‘is almost obsessed’ in signing the Turkey international.

Arsenal are free to hold talks with Ozyakup without consulting Besiktas as the 25-year-old has under four months remaining on his contract.

Ozyakup initially made the move to Arsenal back in 2008 from AZ in Holland. The talented midfielder joined the club’s academy system.

He went onto win the FA Youth Cup in 2009 with the Gunners youth side and went onto make his his senior debut against Shrewsbury in the League Cup.

However, after failing to secure a place in the senior squad, Ozyakup made the move to Besiktas where he has gone onto win two Turkish Super Lig titles.
