German Giants Pip Tottenham & Man City To Top Spot In UEFA Club Rankings After Beating Besiktas 5-0

UEFA have revealed their latest club rankings following the Champions League Last 16 first-leg games.

Besiktas lost their first game in the competition this season after suffering a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Bayern.

The first-leg was played at the Allianz Arena and has all but ended the Black Eagles hopes of booking a place in the quarter-finals.

The defeat saw Besiktas drop down the ranking table into 10th spot this season on 19,000 points.

Bayern meanwhile moved into first place for the first time this season overtaking Manchester City who beat FC Basel 4-0.

Tottenham moved into third-place on 21,000 points along with City and Bayern after their 2-2 away draw versus Juventus.

Besiktas became the first Turkish team to qualify for the Champions League Last 16 as group leaders – they managed to do so with a game to spare.

UEFA take the average of the last five seasons points tally to give an overall points tally.

The reigning Super Lig champions have moved into 24th place overall.

Bayern are currently second overall, Real Madrid who are fourth this season lead the club ranking overall by quite some distance with 150,00 points.

The Premier League has four teams in the top 10 this season but just one in the overall top 10.
