Arsenal Reveal Squad Ahead Of Man City Clash – Wenger Receives Boost As Star Player Returns From Illness

Arsenal Team News

Arsenal take on Manchester City in the League Cup final on Sunday at Wembley stadium.

The Gunners have lost more than any other team in the history of the competition (5) but have won it twice in 1987 and 1993.

City meanwhile are headed for their sixth League Cup final, winning four of their last five with their last defeat coming in 1974.

The North London based outfit will take on City for the first time in a major final.

Arsene Wenger is sweating over the fitness of Wales international Aaron Ramsey.

The midfielder has missed the last three matches due to a groin injury but has made the squad.

Wenger has received a boost as far as Mesut Ozil is concerned.

The playmaker of Turkish origin has recovered from illness and was spotted having dinner with Prince Ali of Jordan.

If he is good enough to have a meal with the prince he should be good enough to play. Well he has made the squad anyway.

France international Alexandre Lacazette is out with a knee injury, Santi Cazorla is also sidelined while Henrikh Mkhitaryan is cup-tied having already played in the competition for Manchester United.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is available after being ruled out of the Europa League due to being ineligible.

Wenger has won just three of his previous 12 head to head matches against City boss Pep Guardiola – in all competitions for all clubs.
