Per the source, Sterling has been struggling with an injury for the past 10 days ago and is even a doubt for Chelsea next Sunday instead.
Meanwhile, Fabian Delph is ruled out after picking up a red card during Monday night’s defeat.
Star striker Gabriel Jesus could return from a knee injury which has kept him out for more than six weeks.
Germany international Ilkay Gundogan is also available for selection today.
