Liverpool have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Napoli midfielder Jorginho.
The Reds are on the lookout for a new central midfielder due to Emre Can’s precarious contract situation.
The Germany international could end up leaving Liverpool for free in the summer after failing to sign a new contract. Serie A giants Juventus have been closely linked with a move for Can.
According to the Times, Napoli midfielder Jorginho has found himself in the middle of a transfer tug-of-war between Liverpool and Manchester United.
Per the source, Liverpool are fully aware that they face an uphill battle to sign the Italian in the summer. Meanwhile, the Sun reported that Jorginho’s representatives were in Manchester back in January to discuss a move to Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Italian outlet Corriere del Mezzogiorno have stated that it will take at least €40 million to prize Jorginho away from Napoli.
