Roberto Carlos – ‘Akhisar need more self confidence’ [divider]
Akhisar manager Roberto Carlos believes his side is in need of more self-confidence.
Carlos spoke to reporters following Akhisar’s 2-0 loss against Başakşehir.
“Başakşehir defended well and waited for us to make mistakes, we did not play well, the players still need more self confidence and motivation,” Carlos was quoted as saying on Eurosport TR.
Akhisar ended Fenerbahçe’s 33 match unbeaten home run last week but were unable to win their third match in a row on the weekend.
Carlos has led Akhisar out of the relegation zone into 11th place in the Süper Lig since taking over in January.
The former World Cup winner had experience both playing and coaching in Turkey before taking charge of the Akigolar.
Carlos was appointed manager of Sivasspor on a two-year deal last summer and guided the Yiğidolar to a sixth place finish in his first season.
The former Real Madrid star also played for Fenerbahçe during his playing career.
