Liverpool take on Newcastle United over the weekend in the Premier League but Jurgen Klopp will have one eye on the game which follows, against rivals Manchester United.
The Liverpool – United derby is always a huge fixture but this time around it could mark a pivotal point in the season.
If the point differential between the two sides remain the same heading into the derby game Liverpool will have the chance to overtake United and move into second place.
Emre Can is match fit against Newcastle United but he could miss the trip to United if he picks up another yellow card.
Liverpool fans took to social media to urge Klopp not to risk Can against the Red Devils.
Supporters called on Klopp to drop the midfielder of Turkish origin so that he will be available.
The 24-year-old is coming off the back of an impressive display against West Ham where he scored his sides 100th goal this season and also managed to pull off an assist in the 4-1 victory.

There was an overwhelming majority who feel the 24-year-old must be rested against Newcastle United in order to avoid the risk of getting suspended for the all important United clash.
