Former Liverpool star Mark Lawrenson has revealed his prediction for this weekend’s clash between the Reds and relegation battlers Newcastle United.
The clash takes place on Saturday at Anfield while kick-off is scheduled for 17:30 (GMT).
Liverpool can move up into second place with a win tomorrow. Meanwhile, Newcastle could see themselves slip into the relegation zone if the suffer a defeat.
Rafa Benitez’s side have managed to record just one win in their last five league games.
Lawrenson believes it will not be a happy return to Anfield for Benitez and has predicted a comfortable 2-0 win for Liverpool.

“Liverpool beat West Ham 4-1 last weekend despite not hitting the heights that they have done recently,” Lawrenson told the BBC.
Everyone is raving about Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane’s form but Roberto Firmino has been outstanding too.
Firmino has kicked on since Philippe Coutinho left for Barcelona in January, but Salah, in particular, has grabbed all the headlines. I think Firmino deserves more credit.
This is a return to Anfield for Newcastle’s former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez, but it probably won’t be a happy one.
“The Magpies threw away a 2-0 lead late on against Bournemouth last week and only drew. I am pretty sure Rafa will set his side up with the aim of getting a point this time, but I don’t think he will get it.”
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp can field a full strength side this weekend after all but securing their passage to the next round of the UEFA Champions League.
Liverpool registered a 5-0 win over FC Porto in Portugal a fortnight ago and host the Dragoes at Anfield on Tuesday.
