Man City star playmaker Ikay Gundogan has revealed that he rejected a move to Liverpool prior to his move to the Citizens.
The decision was clearly a difficult choice for Gundogan who describes Reds boss Jurgen Klopp as a father figure.
The 27-year-old played under Klopp during his spell at Borussia Dortmund, where the pair won the Bundesliga title and reached the UEFA Champions League final.
However, Gundogan opted to make the move to join Man City and work with Pep Guardiola.

“Klopp wanted me, but I decided to go with Guardiola, because his philosophy is closer to my style of play,” Gudnogan told Sport Arena Plus.
“Klopp is like a father to me. Guardiola is a genius, a master. He is the best manager in the world.”
Gundogan has established himself as a first-team regular in Pep Guardiola’s starting eleven. The Germany international played the full 90 minutes during both of Man City’s wins over Arsenal over the past seven days.
Man City are back in action on Sunday when they host Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.
Liverpool meanwhile face Newcastle United in the Premier League tonight.
