Liverpool Legend Jamie Carragher Reacts To Everton Striker Cenk Tosun Scoring First Goal

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher was full of praise for Everton striker Cenk Tosun following his goal against Burnley.

Tosun was given a starting role after spending the last four games on the bench behind Oumar Niasse in the pecking order.

The Turkey international opened the scoring with what was his first goal for the Merseyside based club since making his move from Besiktas in January.

The goal was not enough to give Everton the win or even a draw as Burnley came from behind to score twice in the second-half.

Carragher waxed lyrical about Tosun who he thought did very well considering he was pretty much starved of service for most of the time he as on the field.

The former Liverpool defender was also impressed with the Tosun’s delivery, he could have had two assists after playing Walcott in on goal twice.

“He hasn’t had too many opportunities,” Carragher said on BT Sport.

“He has his goal and he did a lovely ball with his left foot

“He’s looked dangerous on the counter-attack and that goal will do him the world of good as it hasn’t been easy for him.”

Tosun became the first Turkish international to score in the Premier League since Jem Karaca in 2013.

The striker is the 10th Turkish international player to find the back of the net in the league.
