AC Milan had their 13 game unbeaten run come crashing to an end after losing 2-0 against Arsenal at the San Siro Stadium in the Europa League Last 16 first-leg tie.
One of the most controversial moments in the game revolved around Turkey international Hakan Calhanoglu.
Calhanoglu had the chance to go down when Arsenal keeper David Ospina came rushing out of his goal early in the first-half, totally missing the ball.
The AC Milan star could easily have continued running, made contract, won a stonewall penalty and got Ospina sent off.
Instead, he jumped over the Colombia international.
Arsenal went onto punish the Italian giants, scoring twice in the second half soon after.
BT Sport pundit Robbie Savage praised Calhanoglu for his honesty but also said the playmaker should have taken a tumble.
We took a look at how fans reacted to Savage’s comments regarding Calhanoglu on social media.

In case you missed the incident here it is again.
Interestingly enough, for all the anti-diving talk we hear on football shows, Savage decided Calhanoglu should have gone down.
Robbie Savage: “He should go down.” Respect for not doing so indeed ??

Robbie Savage was a massive cheat

Explains why he’s pro diving. Can’t have such dishonesty from a commentator/pundit
— Mbizo (@GoonerMbizo) March 9, 2018
Robbie Savage saying Calhanoglu should of went down in the box there but would of accused him of diving if he did??♂️

Fans of English football: Players (Harry Kane) trying to deceive the referee is disgraceful.
Also fans of English football (Robbie Savage): Calhanoglu should have left his leg in and gone down to win a penalty.

Is Robbie Savage seriously criticising Çalhanoğlu for staying on his feet? Instead of going down to the floor. Shut up Savage. Can’t stand you. This is what’s wrong with the game, commentators like Savage normalising diving as a part of the sport. If you can stay up, stay up.

Robbie Savage encouraging Calhanoglu to leave a trailing leg and go down despite no contact, yet was probably one of the same men vilifying Dele Alli for falling to the ground recently.

Hakan Çalhanoğlu is going to make me grouchy tonight, because I’ve been clamoring for us to sign him for about, oh 18 months.
Also, Robbie Savage just advocated for diving on BT.— Badaab (@Badaab_) March 8, 2018
Calhanoglu should be praised for staying on his feet just now. Instead Robbie Savage tell him he should leave a leg in and go down.
— Jamie (@JamieGriff97) March 8, 2018
Diving is so looked down upon and criticised yet robbie savage on the commentary saying calhanoglu should have gone down….so many double standards
— anthony (@antbameyang) March 8, 2018
Calhanoglu clearly got out of the way, so the fact that Savage is saying that he should’ve left his leg in and gone over, means he’s saying he should dived and forced contact, from an ex player as well
— Simon Breeze (@Simon_Breeze) March 8, 2018
Robbie Savage saying Calhanoglu should have dived ??♂️ no doubt he’d be calling him a disgrace had he done so!
— Luke (@lukejamesy) March 8, 2018
I hate how Savage just said ‘Calhanoglu should’ve gone down’ surely were trying to stop diving, not promote it?
— Tom (@TomTannerr) March 8, 2018
Allow me, Robbie Savage is out here saying Calhanoglu should have dived. Silly twat.
