Everton returned to winning ways following their 2-1 defeat against Burnley last week with a 2-0 victory over Brighton at Goodison Park.
After being dropped for four games Cenk Tosun made his triumphant return last week with the opening goal against Burnley.
Tosun managed to convince Sam Allardyce to start him against versus Brighton and yet again he did not disappoint.
The Turkey international scored the second goal, his first at Goodison Park.
Big Sam revealed after the game that the Toffees quality shone through in the end and that he was pleased with Tosun doing exactly what they signed him for.
“Our quality told in the end,” he was quoted as saying on the official Everton website.
“We were only missing that quality in the final third in the first half in order to go in front after dominating it. When we produced that quality we got our noses in front and deservedly so.
“After Yannick Bolasie’s ball, it is a shame it’s an own goal and not a Theo Walcott goal. It was a quality cross into the box and Theo has put pressure on the defender.
“The second goal was why we brought Cenk to the Club. That’s two in two for him now. That came at the right time for us because going into the final stages of the game 1-0 up can be nervous.”
Tosun has scored two of his last three shots on target which probably suggests Everton could do a bit more in terms of delivery to get him into goal-scoring chances.
The 26-year-old has also created four goalscoring chances himself for teammates.
The star striker was awarded man of the match for his performance against Brighton.
