Gundogan also included Ozil among his top five players as well as fellow Germany international of Turkish origin Emre Can.
All his selections were actually from the Germany national team except Ederson who is still a teammate of his – for City.
“Now that is a tough choice, there are such great players,” he added.
“I’d probably pick my friends, Mesut Ozil, Emre Can, Leroy Sane and of course myself.
“Oh I think I need a keeper as well, well that would be Ederson.”
Gundogan hit the headlines today in Turkey reports emerged that he is set to build a 13 story shopping mall which will include 42 shops and 123 offices in Balikesir.
The 27-year-old brought the land for the building in 2016 and has now been granted permission by the Balikesir council to convert the building into a shopping mall.
Gundogan was born in Germany but his family originates from Dursunbey in Balikesir.
Ozil, Gundogan and Can are all Germany born ethnic Turks as is Everton striker Cenk Tosun but he opted to represent Turkey at international level.
