Liverpool Star Emre Can Reveals What Future Holds

Nobody is quite sure yet whether Emre Can will be a Liverpool player beyond the end of the season.

The problem is the midfielder of Turkish origin has just a few months remaining on his contract.

The 24-year-old will be a free agent unless he strikes a contract extension.

Can is free to strike a deal with another club or renew his current deal.

The Germany international has remained coy over what he will end up deciding but he did give a glimpse into what he thinks the future holds.

The Liverpool star wants to become a world-class player.

There was one piece of good news for Reds fans as Can said he really enjoys working with Jurgen Klopp and feels he has improved under his stewardship.

“I’ve developed a lot under Jurgen Klopp. I am very grateful to him, and it is a lot of fun to work with him,” Can added.

“I want to become a world-class player. Maybe once in the world selection. That would be great.”

Klopp has continued to play Can as a first-choice player despite uncertainty over his future. There are probably not many managers who would give a player in his situation the same luxury.

It is clear the German manager is keen on Can staying but the midfielder will ultimately have the last say.

Can is currently on international duty with Germany but has not been guaranteed a place in the squad for the World Cup in Russia yet.
