Liverpool Star Emre Can suffered a blow to his hopes of making the Germany World Cup squad this summer after being ruled out of the friendly against Brazil on Tuesday with a back injury.
The midfielder of Turkish origin was ruled out of the Spain match with the same back problem earlier in the week.
Can had been hoping to use his latest call-up to gain playing time for the Germany national team and try to win over head coach Joachim Low.
The 24-year-old is not considered a first-choice midfielder for Germany and has a lot of competition in his position.
“With ongoing back problems leaving him without a chance of playing against Brazil on Tuesday, Emre Can has returned home today. Get well soon!,“ DFB tweeted on Saturday.
Can will have to try and convince Low to pick him for the games in Russia on the back of his club form now.
The Reds are likely to finish the Premier League in the top-four but a runners-up spot is up for games.
Liverpool also have to chance to win the Champions League but will have to get past Manchester City first in the quarter-finals.
Can has scored a career high six-goals in a single season this term.
Germany have been drawn in Group F at the World Cup in June, along with Mexico, South Korea and Sweden.
