Roma wonder kid Cengiz Under has really made a name for himself in 2018, scoring six times and providing an assist since netting his first goal against Verona in February.
Under has started attracting interest from across Europe as a result of his impressive form.
Giallorossi sporting director Monchi has revealed that Barcelona have become the latest side to join the race for the rising star.
“Bayram Tutumlu (a Turkish agent) who has a good relationship with Barcelona, told me that they have asked for the boy,” Monchi told Turkish radio station Radyospor.
“We do not have any big offers, but many teams will follow him, because he’s young and scoring goals.”
A source close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football that Under is being scouted by several clubs including Premier League giants Arsenal.
There are no offers on the table and it should come as little surprise that one of the brightest talents in the Serie A is being scouted.
Under’s representatives have made it clear to us that the Turkey international will not be leaving the Italian giants anytime soon.
The 20-year-old has only just settled in and become a first-choice player.
The rising star is expected to stay on at Roma for at least another season.
The Serie A outfit see Under as a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah who left for Liverpool over the summer.
The youngster has been nicknamed ‘Nuovo Salah’ in Italy which translates to the new Salah.

The Roma starlet was closely linked with a several clubs over the summer before joining Roma.
Under revealed why he opted to join the Italian side in the last interview I had with him for the Guardian.

“I was convinced after we heard Monchi’s plan. Monchi [Roma’s director of football] explained they were making big changes. He made it clear that he wanted me as a player for the first-team squad, not as a future prospect. He valued me as a footballer in my own right now, as a rising star with potential,” Under said.
“He knows what to say and how to explain things. He explained the project in detail, that they are a club not afraid to play young players and that the manager has the courage to give youngsters a shot. That clinched it for me.”
The 20-year-old has already scored on his Champions League debut, netting an important away goal that proved to be decisive in knowing Shakhtar out on away goals in the Last 16.
Roma will take on Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals next.
“I wish I could know if we are going to eliminate Barcelona, but obviously it is difficult to know,” Monchi said.
“We are facing possibly the best team in the world, or one of the best, but we have the ambition and we will try to win.”
