Liverpool are on the looking for alternatives in the case Emre Can leaves the club in the summer.
The 24-year-old has entered the final three months of his contract and contract talks appear to have stalled.
Unless Liverpool can strike a new deal with Can between now and the end of the season, the Germany international will be able to leave the club for free.
Serie A Giants Juventus are among several clubs interested in signing Emre Can.
Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has instructed the Reds to sign Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos as Emre Can prepares to leave.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Klopp has identified the 21-year-old Spanish midfielder as the perfect replacement for the out-bound Can.
Ceballos joined Real Madrid from Real Betis at the start of the season but has failed to secure a place in Zinedine Zidane’s side.
The Spain U21 international has made just nine La Liga appearances for Real this season.
