Everton take on Liverpool on Saturday at Goodison Park hoping to win their first Merseyside derby since 2010.
One Everton player has taken it upon himself to gather some intelligence on Liverpool from a former player.
Cenk Tosun revealed to Turkish-Football that he has been getting ‘insider knowledge’ from Ryan Babel ahead of the derby.
Tosun is set to start his first game against Liverpool and has been doing his homework.
The 26-year-old has even been getting behind enemy lines using Babel to gather intelligence on the Reds.
Tosun said: “Babel used to live here, he has a house here, he said I could stay there but I did not really like it. He told me all about the derby, we were and still are close so he has told me what to expect, that’s been helpful having an insider knowledge.”
Tosun used to play alongside Babel at Besiktas and remains close friends with the Dutch winger.
