Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has heaped praise on Mesut Ozil following his display on Thursday evening.
The 29-year-old put on a majestic display during Arsenal’s 4-1 win over CSKA Moscow at the Emirates.
The result puts Arsenal in the driving seat ahead of the second leg clash in Russia next Thursday.
Arsenal know winning the Europa League is their only realistic chance of playing UEFA Champions League football next season.
Following the game, Wenger saluted Ozil during the post-match press conference.
The French tactician went onto state that the Germany international’s display is precisely what football lovers want to see.
“Ozil enjoys and I hope you enjoy,” Wenger told reports during in his post-match news conference.
“You see a great football player. When you love football, that’s what you want to see.”
Ozil provided two assists on the night and also won a penalty for his side.
Wenger may opt to rest Ozil this weekend when Arsenal take on Southampton in the Premier League.
The 29-year-old has racked up 14 assists and five goals in 32 appearances for the Gunners this season.
