Many Everton fans were heartbroken to see their star striker Romelu Lukaku leave to join Manchester United at the start of the season.
Naturally, the Toffees were worried about replacing the goalscoring void left by Lukaku.
However, there are reasons to be optimistic. While Lukaku has impressed following his move to United, he hasn’t managed to score as many goals as his rivals in the top four.
Furthermore, the Belgium international is averaging a goal every 180 minutes – a figure which is lower than Everton’s January signing Cenk Tosun.

Romelu Lukaku – 180.07 – minutes per goal after 31 appearances
Cenk Tosun – 148.25 – minutes per goal after 9 appearances
Tosun was signed at the beginning of the season as a means to fill the void left by Lukaku. Despite a slow start to his Everton career, the Turkey international has found his feet and the back of the net.
Everton fans will be hoping Cenk can continue his goalscoring form when they face relegation battlers Swansea City this weekend.
