Manchester City absolutely wiped the floor with Swansea, beating the Swans 5-0 in their first game at the Etihad since being crowned Premier League champions.
Ilkay Gundogan started for the Citizens and despite not scoring or providing an assist he was widely praised.
Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus all scored while David Silva provided a brace.
The midfielder of Turkish origin put on a stellar display for City playing the full 90 minutes.

Gundogan was widely praised after the game with several City fans calling the 27-year-old world class.
Should Gundogan play as a number 6 from now on?

Gundogan immense in that half, fair play. Miles better at 6 than 8.

Gundogan is WC away from the opponents 18 yard. We should look to strengthen elsewhere since he is good at DM

Gundogan has been immense, first time in a while he’s completely controlled the tempo

Gundogan playing at 6 is every bit as good as Jorginho or Weigl. Unnecessary signings.

Gundogan is simply world class… Goes unnoticed in man cities midfield, Pep moulding him into that role Xavi had at Barcelona.#MCISWA #EPL

Gündogan is really showing his class today! He has got some deserved criticism for slowing down City at times, but not today. He also tackles and dominate the midfield. ?

The depth City have is absolutely bonkers!
Imagine being as good as Gundogan is and being the third best midfielder in the team
