Everton take on Newcastle United at Goodison Park on Monday in the Premier League.

The Toffees will be hoping to extend their impressive record over Newcastle which has seen them win seven of their last eight games against the visitors.

The Magpies have won just one of their last 13 visits to Goodison Park.

Sam Allardyce welcomed good news on the injury front as midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson is back training after recovering from injury but will not be available for Monday’s visit of Newcastle.

The Iceland international will need some time to return to match fitness from his knee injury.

Defender Mason Holgate is also close to making a return from an ankle injury.

Big Sam will have Wayne Rooney available. The England international has scored 15 league goals against Newcastle, more than any other player against Newcastle.

Turkey international striker Cenk Tosun is also available and has made the squad as has Theo Walcott, Yannick Bolasie, Calvert-Lewin and Niasse.

Newcastle could overtake Everton in the league standings and move into 9th place with a win.
