Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has revealed which Arsenal player he fears most ahead of the Europa League semi-final first-leg tie at the Emirates.
Simeone has made it clear that he is concerned about Ozil.
The Argentinian manager warned his side to not let the playmaker of Turkish origin dictate the pace of the game.
“Ozil has incredible vision,” he said in his pre-match press conference. “He manages the speed of transitions at Arsenal – if he wants his team to play quickly he will.
“It’s up to us to make it the kind of game we want to have – and be brave.”
The 2014 World Cup winner has a pretty impressive record against Atleti.
During his days at Real Madrid he scored four times and provided one assist in eight games against the La Liga based outfit.
The former Real man also created a whopping 22 goal scoring opportunities.
Ozil was a doubt heading into the game after missing the weekend Premier League game against West Ham.
The 29-year-old has returned to training and is expected to start against Atleti.
Oft-seen as the Champions League’s forgettable cousin the Europa League is a big deal for Arsenal this season.
Winning the competition offers the best chance the Gunners have of booking a place in the Champions League next season.
