Arsenal are on the verge of signing Freiburg centre-back Caglar Soyuncu, according to Altinordu president Seyit Mehmet Ozkan.
Soyuncu rose through the youth ranks at Altinordu before joining the Bundesliga outfit in 2016.
The Turkey international went directly from playing in the Turkish second-division to German first-tier football.
Turkish-Football were informed of the Gunners interest on our last visit to Altinordu over the U12 Izmir Cup tournament in March.

The North London based outfit made an enquiry for Soyuncu and Altinordu were informed as they stand to earn a cut of any future transfer due to a clause included in the contract when he was sold to Freiburg – as well as a development fee.
Speaking at the International Football Economic Forum, Ozkan claimed: “Caglar Soyuncu is set to join Arsenal.
“Bayern Munich also want him but he’s on the way to the Premier League.”
It’s understood Arsenal’s head of recruitment, Sven Mislintat, is the man behind the club’s interest.
Freiburg are demanding a fee of around £30million for Soyuncu which could put off the likes of Arsenal and Bayern this summer.
The 21-year-old defender has established himself as a first-team regular at Freiburg and is rated one of the hottest prospects in the league.
Soyuncu and Roma star Cengiz Under are both products of the Altinordu system which aims to build a completely homegrown side by 2020.
The Izmir based club has invested heavily in youth development. Soyuncu and Under are the first two players to emerge from the academy and showcase their talent in top-five European leagues.
