Croatia have named their squad ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Besiktas centre-back Domagoj Vida was among the 12 defenders named, the other high profile names included Liverpool’s Dejan Lovren, Lokomotiv Moscow’s Vedran Corluka, Samdordia’s Ivan Strinic, Atletico Madrid’s Sime Vrsaljko and Bayer Leverkusen’s Tin Jedvaj.
Vida has started Croatia’s last nine games in all competitions with Lovren usually starting alongside him as his defensive partner.
The Liverpool man has started six of Croatia’s last nine games as centre-back.
Vida is the sole Super Lig representative in the Croatia squad.
The 29-year-old joined the Black Eagles from Dynamo Kyiv on a free transfer in January.
The reigning Super Lig champions were unable to defend the title this season and the best they can settle for is a runners-up place.
Vida scored once for the Istanbul giants, making a total of 17 appearances across all competitions.
Lovren meanwhile could star in the Champions League final at the end of the month for the Reds against Real Madrid.
