Turkey beat Iran 2-1 at the Fatih Terim Stadium in an international friendly clash on Monday.
Freiburg star Caglar Soyuncu started for the Crescent-Stars in defence.
Despite being a friendly there was quite a lot of interest in the game, mainly from Arsenal fans.
If you are wondering why, well Soyuncu is why.
The Gunners have been closely linked with the 22-year-old and there were more than a few curious fans interested in checking him out.
Soyuncu put on an impressive display in defence, helping his side keep a clean sheet until the 90th minute when Omer Bayram decided to do a Suarez and save the ball off the line with his hand, forcing a penalty, which Iran converted.
We took a look at how Arsenal fans reacted to the display on social media.

Soyuncu has looked good from what I have seen of this game so far. Seems comfortable on the ball playing with both feet and also steps really high up to intercept the ball, like a sweeper type. #afc

Really impressive! For being only 21! I see some Mats Hummels in him!

Soyuncu was solid during the friendly match between Turkey and Iran. Playing on the left of the defence, he was calm on the ball and positioned himself well throughout. He’s not bad going forward & demonstrated willingness to attack corners also. Game played at high pace. pic.twitter.com/xagzsDJ24m

Arsenal target Caglar Soyuncu kept the Turkish defence together tonight. Mature for his age, a leader at the back, made highest number of tackles. He played as a forward in his youth which partly explains why he is so confident on the ball. Played ball out of defence well. pic.twitter.com/Vk7pz15xg4

Well Arsenal fans will be pleased to know Caglar Soyuncu has been the only shining light in an otherwise ramshackle defence #Class

Is Iran a real test though? to be fair they are one of the toughest sides in Asia and will be competing in the World Cup.
Iran just not good enough to test Soyuncu. Pointless watching this game

Turned on the Turkey-Iran game for Soyuncu, but stayed for Iran’s play. Really intriguing positional rotation. Wonder if Carlos Queiroz will return to club football any time soon.

Not quite sealed yet!
Credit to big Sven for the spot and Ivan for sealing the deal.

Unless Mustafi is sold?
Sokratis signing has all but left Soyuncu open for someone else boy wants first team foot all and we have just added another experienced defender ahead of him lol
